Obama expresses 'surprise' that McCain wouldn't repeat accusations about Ayers to his - Obama's - face, during the debate in Nashville.
An attempt to call McCain a coward, impugn his vaunted 'honor' and goad him into attacking during the next debate, going negative and possibly losing his temper? I wouldn't be surprised. Obama is a chess player - he thinks several moves ahead. McCain is a hothead who just might fall for this.
On the other hand, if McCain doesn't take the bait, then he lays off the Ayers connection and gives Obama a pass.
Either way, Obama wins.
As this campaign continues, it becomes increasingly amusing to recall that it was McCain who tried to lecture Obama on strategy and tactics.
